One of my favorite Easter quotes is from an old sermon given by Sociologist and preacher, Tony Campolo. The quote is simply: “It’s Friday, but Sunday’s coming!” That statement speaks for itself. That Friday, 2000 years ago, ended as a day of death and defeat, but then came Sunday. Everything changed, forever, as our Savior overcame death with the power of resurrection! This year, Easter couldn’t come at a better time. We all need to be reminded that it may be Friday, but Sunday is coming!
I am praying for you and your family as you navigate life in a pandemic. At times like these, I am so thankful for the Apostle Paul’s words from 1 Corinthians 4: 20, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.” Between the news, experts, politicians, and even we preachers, we have got plenty of talk, but what we need is power… the power of resurrection!
Join me in praying that this Easter will be one we will never forget as we celebrate our Lord’s resurrection together!
Grateful for the empty tomb.
